We’re looking for a calm, caring and committed Autism Support Worker to join a welcoming primary school in Bradford this September. You’ll be supporting a pupil with autism, helping them navigate the school day and access learning in a way that works for them.

This role is about more than ticking boxes—it’s about building trust, creating routine, and helping a child feel safe, seen and supported.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Providing 1:1 or small group support to a pupil with autism

  • Creating a calm and structured learning environment

  • Using visual aids, routines, and sensory strategies

  • Supporting with transitions, social interaction, and emotional regulation

  • Working closely with the SENCO, class teacher, and parents/carers

You’ll need:

  • Experience working with children with autism or in an SEN setting

  • A patient, non-judgemental approach and strong communication skills

  • Confidence to work independently while taking direction from staff

  • Knowledge of autism strategies (PECS, Makaton, sensory tools) is a bonus

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
