Autism Support Teaching Assistant – Sunderland
Full-Time | September Start | Specialist SEND Setting
We’re on the lookout for a compassionate, committed Teaching Assistant to join a specialist autism setting in Sunderland this September.
This school supports children and young people with Autism Spectrum Conditions and associated communication and learning needs providing a structured, understanding environment where every pupil can succeed.
If you’ve got a calm approach, a genuine interest in supporting neurodivergent pupils, and the patience to help build confidence and communication, this could be the perfect fit.
Your role will include:

Providing consistent support to pupils with Autism and related needs

Assisting with communication strategies, behaviour support, and structured routines

Helping pupils access learning and develop key life skills

Working closely with specialist teachers, therapists, and pastoral teams
We’re looking for someone who:

Has experience working with Autism, SEND, or in a care/support role

Brings a patient, understanding approach to every situation
-
Is flexible, resilient, and positive in a team environment

Can commit to a full-time role from September

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
