ASD Teaching Assistant
Full Time (8:20am–3:30pm) | September 2025 Start
We’re working with a forward-thinking secondary schoo home to a brand-new Designated Unit for Autistic Young People, and they’re looking for a dedicated ASD Teaching Assistant to join their growing team.
This full-time role supports 11–16-year-olds with ASD, ADHD, and challenging behaviours—so confidence, experience, and a calm approach are key.
What You’ll Be Doing:

Supporting pupils 1:1 and in small groups within a holistic, specialist unit

Working closely with students who have Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs)

Helping to deliver integrated education and therapeutic provision

Promoting engagement, independence, and emotional wellbeing in every session

Contributing to a nurturing and structured daily routine for each young person
What We’re Looking For:

Previous experience supporting students with ASD (essential)

Confidence managing challenging behaviour and adapting support as needed

A warm, patient, and resilient approach

Ambition to grow your skills and make a lasting difference

Enthusiasm for working within a collaborative, specialist setting

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
