ASD Teaching Assistant

  Full Time (8:20am–3:30pm) |  September 2025 Start

 

We’re working with a forward-thinking secondary schoo home to a brand-new Designated Unit for Autistic Young People, and they’re looking for a dedicated ASD Teaching Assistant to join their growing team.

This full-time role supports 11–16-year-olds with ASD, ADHD, and challenging behaviours—so confidence, experience, and a calm approach are key.


What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Supporting pupils 1:1 and in small groups within a holistic, specialist unit

  • Working closely with students who have Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs)

  • Helping to deliver integrated education and therapeutic provision

  • Promoting engagement, independence, and emotional wellbeing in every session

  • Contributing to a nurturing and structured daily routine for each young person


What We’re Looking For:

  • Previous experience supporting students with ASD (essential)

  • Confidence managing challenging behaviour and adapting support as needed

  • A warm, patient, and resilient approach

  • Ambition to grow your skills and make a lasting difference

  • Enthusiasm for working within a collaborative, specialist setting

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
