We’re working with a fantastic school in North Tyneside that supports children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) in a calm, nurturing environment. They’re looking for a compassionate, proactive ASD Learning Support Assistant to provide consistent 1:1 support and help pupils thrive both in and out of the classroom.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Supporting a child with ASD 1:1, helping build trust, focus, and confidence

  • Encouraging communication, social interaction, and emotional regulation

  • Promoting positive behaviour through consistency and calm support

  • Assisting during lessons and unstructured times, using play and creativity to build relationships

  • Working closely with teachers and therapists to deliver tailored support plans

  • Can stay calm and grounded under pressure

  • Are full of patience, kindness, and a good sense of humour

  • Are confident using behaviour strategies and proactive in your support

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
