A vibrant and inclusive secondary school in Newham is seeking a passionate and imaginative Art Teacher for a full-time, long-term role starting this September. This is an excellent opportunity to join a school that values creative subjects and encourages students to express themselves through a range of artistic media.

The successful candidate will be confident teaching Art across Key Stages 3 and 4, nurturing both technical skills and creative confidence in students of all abilities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver engaging Art lessons in line with the national curriculum

  • Teach a variety of techniques including drawing, painting, sculpture, and digital art

  • Prepare students for coursework and assessments at KS4, including GCSE Art

  • Promote creativity, experimentation, and critical thinking in a studio-based environment

  • Maintain a well-organised and inspiring classroom space with accessible materials

  • Support exhibitions, displays, and enrichment opportunities to celebrate student work

You will be a great fit if you:

  • Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent recognised qualification

  • Have experience teaching Art in a UK secondary school

  • Are committed to fostering creativity, individuality, and artistic growth

  • Can adapt your teaching to suit learners of varying skill levels and learning styles

  • Are proactive, collaborative, and enthusiastic about the visual arts

  • Uphold high standards of classroom management and student engagement
