Design Technology or Art Technician – Secondary School

Salary: £95–£110 per day (depending on experience) PAYE

We’re working with a busy secondary school looking for a proactive and practical Technician to support either the Design Technology or Art department. You’ll play a key part in helping creative lessons run smoothly setting up equipment, prepping materials, and making sure the classroom is safe, tidy, and ready to inspire.
About the Role
Whether you're working with saws or sketchbooks, you’ll:
- Prepare materials and tools for practical lessons
- Support students during workshops or studio sessions
- Keep equipment in good working order and stock levels organised
- Maintain a safe, tidy classroom that meets health and safety standards
- Help create displays, resources, and project examples where needed
About You
We’re looking for someone who:
- Has experience in a workshop, studio, or school environment (bonus if it’s both)
- Is confident using tools, materials, and specialist equipment
- Has an eye for detail and a strong sense of organisation
- Is reliable, enthusiastic, and happy to get stuck in
- Holds a current DBS on the Update Service or is happy to apply

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
