Are you a caring, patient, and reliable teaching assistant looking to make a real impact in a child's early development? A welcoming primary school in Shrewsbury is seeking an EYFS 1:1 Teaching Assistant to support a young learner with specific needs in the Early Years Foundation Stage.
This role offers a rewarding opportunity to provide personalised guidance and encouragement to help a child flourish both academically and emotionally.
Your Role and Key Contributions

Deliver one-to-one support for a specific Early Years pupil throughout the school day

Assist the class teacher in planning and adapting lessons to suit the pupil's needs

Encourage the child’s independence, confidence, and engagement in learning

Create a calm, inclusive, and nurturing learning space tailored to the pupil’s development

Use a flexible approach to support the pupil’s preferred learning style

Monitor progress and contribute to regular feedback shared with teachers and parents
-
Build positive relationships with the pupil, staff, and families to ensure open communication

Uphold school policies, values, and safeguarding procedures consistently
What We’re Looking For

A Level 2 or Level 3 qualification in Supporting Teaching and Learning (or equivalent)

Previous experience supporting children on a one-to-one basis in an EYFS or primary setting

A strong understanding of the developmental needs of Early Years pupils

Excellent communication and listening skills to work effectively with children and adults

A calm, empathetic, and patient approach to behaviour and emotional needs

Flexibility to adapt support strategies to meet individual needs

Familiarity with classroom resources and techniques used to aid individual learning

Qualifications in child development or additional needs are welcomed but not essential
