A vibrant and inclusive school in Heaton, Newcastle, is on the lookout for a compassionate, proactive SEND Teaching Assistant to support pupils in Year 4 with ASC and SEMH needs.

What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Providing 1:1 and small group support for pupils with autism and social, emotional, and mental health needs

  • Helping pupils feel safe, seen, and ready to learn

  • Supporting classroom routines, learning activities, and transitions throughout the day

  • Working closely with the class teacher and SENDCo to tailor support strategies

  • Being a steady, trusted adult for children who need consistency

What We’re Looking For:

  • Experience supporting children with ASC and/or SEMH (school-based or otherwise)

  • Calm, empathetic approach with strong boundaries

  • A team player who can take initiative and follow behaviour plans

  • Someone who genuinely loves helping children thrive—even on the wobbly days
