We’re searching for a compassionate and confident SEND Teaching Assistant to support a boy transitioning into Year 1 this September. This pupil is non-verbal, has a diagnosis of autism and sensory processing challenges, and can become physically dysregulated. You’ll be his anchor; helping him navigate the school day, build trust, and feel safe.

What the role involves:

Providing 1:1 support tailored to sensory and emotional needs

Using visual supports, routines, and calm-down strategies

Working closely with the class teacher and SENCO

Supporting with personal care when needed

Helping the pupil access learning at their own pace
We’re looking for someone who:

Has experience with autism, SEMH, or non-verbal children

Stays calm under pressure and uses a trauma-informed approach

Understands the importance of consistency, empathy, and structure

Can be patient, playful, and proactive

Wants to help a child feel seen, safe, and supported every day

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
