Protocol Education is offering a fantastic opportunity for a dedicated and patient 1:1 Special Education Teaching Assistant with a year 3 pupil on a 1:1 basis, providing tailored support to help the student with access learning, build confidence and reach their full potential. The ideal candidate will need to have previous experience working with challenging behaviour and high needs of ASD.

Key responsibilities:
- Support: Provide 1:1 SEN support in classroom
- Assist: Help teachers implement educational plans tailored student unique needs.
- Engage: Monitor and supervise student during class activities, ensuring they understand instructions and tasks.
- Manage: De-escalate challenging behaviour with positivity and effective behaviour management techniques.
- Communicate: Build positive relationships with teachers, parents and professionals while maintaining detailed records of each child’s progress.
- Nurture: Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment that helps the student integrate into school life more easily
Qualifications and Skills:
- Relevant qualifications (e.g., CACHE Level 2/3, TA qualification) are desirable but not essential
- Experience in educational setting (ideally SEN-focused)
- A calm, empathetic, and proactive approach
- Excellent written and verbal communication
- A valid DBS on the Update Service or willingness to apply for one
- Understanding of different learning styles and the ability to adapt teaching methods accordingly
