Do you have a knack for connecting with young people? We’re working with a supportive school that’s looking for a dedicated Youth Worker to help young people feel heard, understood and empowered to make positive choices. You’ll be supporting students who need that extra bit of patience, understanding and guidance – helping them to stay engaged and positive in school life.

 

What you’ll be doing:

-          Building trusting relationships with young people, offering both guidance and encouragement

-          Supporting pupils with social, emotional and behavioural needs, both in and outside the classroom

-          Helping young people to develop confidence, resilience and positive coping strategies

-          Working closing with teachers, pastoral teams and SENDCo where appropriate

Requirements:

-          Experience working with children and young people, ideally in school or youth service setting

-          A calm, confident manner who can build rapport with young people quickly

-          Strong communication skills and the ability to build trust

-          Someone who can model positive behaviour and understands the challenges that young people may face (including trauma, mental health or disengagement).

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
