Hours: Full time (08:30 – 16:00)

Are you an enthusiastic individual who has the compassion, patience and the experience needed to support children who have a range of social, emotional and/or mental health needs? If so then we at Protocol Education may be able to help, as we have a varied/engaging opportunity based in Ealing working as a youth mentor.

This role requires a proactive and engaging practitioner who will be able to forge positive and influential relationships with these young people as they enter a very crucial point in their lives. You will be installing the belief in these young that they can reach their full potential.

Key duties of a youth mentor:

  • To observe and monitor pupil progress, adapting an agreed approach to meet particular needs (including mental health), recording and maintaining records of pupils’ development and progress.
  • Devising, implementing and evaluating specialised programmes of work, which include SMART targets, to encourage and promote a pupil’s social, emotional and mental health needs, including play therapy for both individuals or within a group.
  • Communicating effectively and by working collaboratively with teachers, support staff and external support as required to ensure effective provision for all our pupils.
  • Monitoring pupil’s progress before, during and after intervention to measure the impact of the intervention strategy on progress; include student evaluations.
  • Maintaining a record of evaluations as evidence of effective practice, support and guidance.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
