Protocol Education is currently seeking an enthusiastic, experienced, and dedicated Year 6 Primary Teacher to join a thriving primary school in Harlow. This is an exciting opportunity for a passionate educator to make a positive impact on the academic journey of pupils in their final year of primary education. The successful candidate will have the ability to engage students, deliver the Year 6 curriculum effectively, and ensure that pupils are well-prepared for their transition to secondary school.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver engaging lessons: Create stimulating and inclusive lessons that cater to the diverse needs of all students, ensuring they are challenged and supported to achieve their potential.
- Prepare students for SATs: Focus on core subjects (Maths, English, and Science) to help students prepare for their Key Stage 2 SATs, while maintaining a balanced and broad curriculum.
- Classroom management: Create a positive, safe, and productive learning environment that fosters excellent behaviour and encourages active participation.
- Differentiated instruction: Adapt teaching strategies to meet the individual needs of students, including those with SEN or EAL, ensuring every child has the opportunity to succeed.
- Monitor progress and assessment: Track pupil progress through formative and summative assessments, providing regular feedback to students and their parents/carers.
- Collaborate with colleagues: Work closely with teaching assistants, support staff, and other Year 6 teachers to ensure consistency in teaching across the year group and contribute to the wider school community.
- Pastoral care: Offer emotional and social support to students, ensuring their wellbeing and personal development alongside their academic growth.
- Liaise with parents: Build and maintain positive relationships with parents and carers, providing clear communication and updates on student progress and any concerns.
Essential Qualifications and Skills:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
- Proven experience teaching Key Stage 2, ideally Year 6.
- Thorough understanding of the Year 6 curriculum, particularly in core subjects (Maths, English, and Science).
- Ability to prepare students for SATs and ensure progression for all ability levels.
- Strong classroom management skills with a commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
- Ability to create and maintain a positive, inclusive, and high-expectation classroom culture.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively within a team.
- Passion for teaching and commitment to continuing professional development.
Desirable:
- Experience working with Special Educational Needs (SEN) or English as an Additional Language (EAL) students.
- Knowledge of current educational policies and practices in UK primary schools.
