Pay:  £186.00 - £286.00 per day/ depending on experience

Are you an experienced Key Stage 2 teacher looking for a role where your skills are trusted and valued? This Year 5 opportunity could be the perfect next step.

We’re working with a welcoming one-form entry primary school in Watford that’s known for its positive ethos, well-behaved pupils, and genuine sense of community. They are seeking a confident Year 5 teacher to join their team from January 2026.

You’ll be taking responsibility for an enthusiastic and capable Year 5 class who enjoy being challenged and supported to do their best. The senior leadership team believe in empowering teachers – offering guidance and collaboration rather than micromanagement.

What’s on offer:

  • A full-time role in a supportive, well-resourced primary school

  • The freedom to plan and teach creatively – no tick-box approach

  • Friendly, supportive colleagues and approachable leadership

  • Weekly pay through PAYE

  • Ongoing professional development opportunities

Key Requirements for a Year 5 Teacher role:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) in the UK

  • Experience teaching in Key Stage 2, ideally Year 5

  • Strong understanding of the KS2 National Curriculum

  • Ability to plan and deliver engaging, well-structured lessons

  • Confident classroom management with high expectations for behaviour

  • Experience assessing pupil progress and adapting teaching accordingly

  • Commitment to inclusive practice and supporting pupils of all abilities

  • Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with colleagues

  • Positive, proactive approach to teaching and learning

  • Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to obtain one)

If you enjoy creating meaningful learning experiences, building confident learners, and working in a school that truly values your ideas, this role is well worth exploring.
