Protocol Education is working closely with friendly, supportive primary schools across South Bristol to find a caring and committed Year 2 class teacher for a full-time role.

This is a lovely opportunity for a teacher who enjoys the balance Year 2 brings, building strong foundations in literacy and numeracy while supporting children through an important transition year.

The role
You’ll be responsible for planning and delivering engaging lessons in line with the Year 2 curriculum, creating a calm, structured and encouraging classroom where children feel safe, confident and ready to learn.

You’ll support pupils as they develop independence, embed key skills and prepare for KS2, using clear routines, strong relationships and a nurturing approach.

You’ll work closely with teaching assistants and colleagues, assess progress and adapt learning to meet a range of needs, including SEND.

A bit about you
• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
• Experience teaching in KS1, ideally Year 2
• Confident delivering phonics, early reading and maths
• Calm, patient and nurturing in your approach
• Strong classroom routines and behaviour management
• Committed to inclusive practice and supporting individual needs
• A positive team player who builds warm relationships

What we need to clear you
• Passport
• Two proofs of address, such as driving licence, utility bill, council tax or P45 or P60
• CV covering the last 10 years, with any gaps explained
• Two years of references, including education references
• OSPC if you have lived overseas for three months or more in the last five years

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
