About the Role:
We are seeking a warm, enthusiastic and dedicated Year 1 Teacher to join a welcoming and well-resourced primary school in Watford for the Summer Term 2026.
This role is ideal for a teacher who enjoys supporting children as they consolidate key skills and grow in independence towards the end of Key Stage 1. You will help pupils build confidence in phonics, reading, writing and maths, while maintaining a nurturing and engaging classroom environment.
The school has a strong sense of community and a supportive, collaborative culture. Staff work closely together, sharing best practice and celebrating successes to ensure pupils thrive academically and socially.

The Ideal Candidate:

Qualified Primary Teacher (QTS or equivalent)

Experience teaching KS1, ideally in Year 1

A caring, creative and patient approach to teaching

Strong phonics knowledge and a commitment to inclusive, engaging learning

Ability to support pupils’ confidence and independence as they progress through the year

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
