We are looking for a dedicated and compassionate Teaching Assistant to join a local primary school as a Worry Buster. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in supporting pupils by addressing their worries, preventing behavioural issues, and ensuring a safe and positive learning environment. This primary school offers a holistic approach to education, they have implemented the 'Worry Busters' program, designed to support the de-escalation and prevention of difficult or dangerous behaviour among our pupils.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-on-one and small group support to pupils experiencing anxiety or behavioural challenges.
  • Implement strategies to deescalate difficult situations and prevent dangerous behaviour.
  • Foster a calm and supportive atmosphere where pupils feel safe to express their concerns.
  • Work closely with teachers, senior leaders, and other staff to identify pupils in need of support.
  • Develop and utilise engaging activities to help pupils manage their worries and emotions effectively.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Experience working with children in an educational or support setting.
  • Strong understanding of behaviour management and de-escalation techniques.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to create a supportive and engaging learning environment.
  • Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for helping children manage their worries and succeed.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
