As an Unqualified Teacher, you may be responsible for delivering lessons, supporting curriculum content, and managing classroom behaviour under the guidance of senior teaching staff. Roles may be subject-specific or general, depending on school
requirements.
Secondary schools across South Tyneside are seeking an Unqualified Teacher to support teaching and learning across Key Stages 3 and 4. This Unqualified Teacher role is suitable for candidates with strong subject knowledge who are looking to gain teaching experience prior to formal teacher training.
Key responsibilities:
- Delivering lessons to secondary-aged students
- Supporting student progress and engagement
- Managing classroom behaviour in line with school policies
- Working collaboratively with department staff
Requirements:
- Subject knowledge relevant to the secondary curriculum
- Previous experience working with young people is preferred but not essential
- An interest in progressing within education or teacher training
This Unqualified Teacher role provides valuable classroom experience and insight into secondary teaching.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
