Protocol Education currently work directly with Redcar and Cleveland local authority to provide experienced tutors to deliver 1:1 tuition.
We are looking for educators (Fully Qualified Teachers, Higher Level Teaching Assistants, SEN Specialists, SEMH specialists and Teaching Assistants) who are specialists in core subjects (English, Maths, Sciences). We support students of all ages so are looking for tutor from both Primary and Secondary backgrounds.
Supporting students who are Permanently Excluded (PEX) from school, most tuition sessions are held in either the students’ homes or local library/community hubs. Tuition requests vary from 1 to 15 hours across the week, depending on the individual needs and situation of the student.
As a tutor, your responsibilities will include:
- Providing one-to-one support to children with varying needs in their homes or within the local community.
- Plan, develop and deliver individualised programmes and learning.
- Managing challenging behaviours.
- Creating resources tailored to the child's individual needs, whether that be in subjects such as Math and English.
As a tutor, you will need to:
- Be confident in creating resources in lines with the UK National Curriculum, at a KS3 or KS4 level.
- Be able to build a rapport with students.
- Write session reports about what was covered in sessions so that we can track the progress and content being covered.
- Have some SEN/ SEMH experience.
