Trainee Teaching Assistant – South Shields (Secondary SEND)

Thinking about a career in education but not sure where to start? This Trainee TA role is ideal for someone who wants hands-on experience in a secondary SEND setting. You’ll receive guidance from an experienced team and gain valuable skills working with pupils who have autism, communication needs or learning differences.
What you’ll be doing:
• Supporting pupils in lessons and helping them stay engaged
• Learning how to use visuals, structure and communication tools
• Helping with sensory breaks, routines and small-group activities
• Building confidence and relationships with pupils who need extra encouragement
What you’ll need:
• A genuine interest in education or youth support
• A caring, patient approach
• Willingness to be hands-on and learn from the team

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
