This role is ideal if you’re calm, caring, and passionate about making a real difference.
As a trainee SEN TA, you’ll support pupils with additional needs such as autism, ADHD, or speech and language difficulties. You’ll be guided by experienced staff and gain valuable hands-on experience in inclusive education.
You’ll be:

Supporting pupils with SEND on a 1:1 or small group basis

Helping children access learning and regulate emotions

Working closely with teachers and SENCOs
-
Building skills that could lead to specialist SEN roles
No prior SEN experience needed, just empathy, resilience, and commitment.

Experience with SEMH, behaviour support or trauma-informed practice

A calm, patient and non-judgemental approach

Strong communication skills and a genuine commitment to pupil wellbeing

Confidence to set clear boundaries while staying warm and supportive

Flexibility and resilience when the day takes a twist or two
