This role is ideal if you’re calm, caring, and passionate about making a real difference.

As a trainee SEN TA, you’ll support pupils with additional needs such as autism, ADHD, or speech and language difficulties. You’ll be guided by experienced staff and gain valuable hands-on experience in inclusive education.

You’ll be:

  • Supporting pupils with SEND on a 1:1 or small group basis

  • Helping children access learning and regulate emotions

  • Working closely with teachers and SENCOs

  • Building skills that could lead to specialist SEN roles

No prior SEN experience needed, just empathy, resilience, and commitment.

What we're looking for

  • Experience with SEMH, behaviour support or trauma-informed practice

  • A calm, patient and non-judgemental approach

  • Strong communication skills and a genuine commitment to pupil wellbeing

  • Confidence to set clear boundaries while staying warm and supportive

  • Flexibility and resilience when the day takes a twist or two

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
