We are recruiting Trainee Teaching Assistants to support pupils in a specialist education setting in Peterlee. This role is ideal for individuals looking to start a career in education and gain hands-on experience supporting children and young people with social, emotional and behavioural needs.
No formal Teaching Assistant qualification is required — this role suits candidates with experience in care, youth work, sports coaching, or similar people-focused roles.
Key Responsibilities

Support pupils during lessons and structured activities.

Provide emotional and behavioural support throughout the school day.

Assist teachers with classroom activities and routines.

Build positive relationships with pupils to encourage engagement.

Support pupils during transitions and unstructured times.
Skills & Experience
