Trainee Specialist Teaching Assistant – Communication & Support
Location: Sunderland / Peterlee area
Contract: Full-Time, Term-Time + Training Days

This role is ideal if you’re keen to develop specialist skills supporting learners with communication and interaction needs. You’ll work alongside experienced staff to help pupils express themselves and access the curriculum with confidence.
What you’ll do

Support social communication activities with individuals and groups

Assist with visual supports and structured communication aids

Help pupils build confidence in speaking, listening and interaction

Learn from experienced practitioners as part of ongoing training
You should have

A patient, encouraging and flexible mindset

Experience or interest in communication support

A desire to learn specialist approaches (training given)

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
