Job Title: Trainee Teaching Assistant (SEND)
Location: Northumberland
Job Type: Full-Time (Monday to Friday, term time only)
Salary: £89–£103 per day (depending on experience)

Looking to start a career where you can genuinely change lives?

We’re looking for passionate, motivated individuals to join us as Trainee Teaching Assistants in Northumberland, supporting children with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND). You don’t need classroom experience—just a calm, caring approach and a real desire to help young people thrive.

This is a brilliant stepping stone for anyone looking to build a career in education, youth work, psychology, or care. You’ll get full training, expert support, and the chance to make a real difference every day.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Supporting children with additional needs including Autism (ASC), ADHD, and communication difficulties

  • Providing one-to-one or small group support to help pupils engage in learning

  • Building trust-based relationships with children, offering consistency and encouragement

  • Assisting with personal care or emotional regulation where needed

  • Working alongside teachers, SENCOs, and therapists to deliver personalised support

  • Championing positive behaviour and celebrating every small win

Who we’re looking for:
Whether you’ve worked with children before or are brand new to education, we want to hear from you. Experience in care, youth work, coaching, or volunteering is a bonus—but what matters most is that you’re reliable, kind, and eager to learn.

What’s in it for you:

  • Weekly pay through PAYE—no umbrella companies, no extra fees

  • FREE access to SEND-focused CPD including Autism Awareness, Team Teach, and Safeguarding

  • One-to-one support from a dedicated local consultant who knows Northumberland schools inside out

  • Opportunities for long-term roles and career development

  • £50 referral bonus if you recommend someone who joins us

If you’re ready to start a rewarding role helping children reach their potential, we’d love to hear from you.
