Trainee PRU Support Worker – South Tyneside

Pay: £89 to £110 per day
Start: ASAP
Contract: Full-time, long-term

If you’ve always thought you’d be good at building rapport with young people who don’t always get a fair deal in school, this trainee route is the perfect way in.

You don’t need PRU or behaviour experience, just resilience, warmth and a willingness to learn. You’ll be supported every step of the way by experienced staff.

You’ll be doing:
• Providing calm, predictable support in class
• Building trust with pupils who need safe adults
• Helping young people regulate emotions and interactions
• Using restorative and relational approaches
• Supporting learning in short bursts and practical activities

What you need:
• Patience, humour and a grounded personality
• A genuine interest in supporting young people with SEMH needs
• Willingness to learn de-escalation, trauma-informed practice and Thrive

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
