eaching Assistant – Wakefield

Start date: As soon as possible
Pay: Pay to scale

You’re not “just” a Teaching Assistant. You’re the calm presence, the extra pair of eyes, the quiet cheerleader, and the person who helps pupils feel safe enough to learn. And the schools we work with in Wakefield know just how important that is.

We’re working closely with a range of welcoming primary and secondary schools across Wakefield who are looking for reliable, caring Teaching Assistants to support pupils in the classroom. These roles suit people who genuinely enjoy working with children and want to make a positive difference every day.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Supporting pupils in class, in small groups, or on a 1:1 basis

  • Helping teachers keep learning on track and classrooms running smoothly

  • Building positive relationships with pupils who need a bit of extra encouragement

  • Creating a calm, supportive learning environment where children can thrive

What schools are looking for:

  • Previous experience working with children or young people, in schools or other settings

  • A patient, positive attitude and a willingness to get stuck in

  • Good communication skills and a team-first mindset

  • An understanding of SEND is a big plus, but not essential

What you’ll get with Protocol Education:

  • Pay to scale, paid weekly through PAYE

  • Roles starting immediately in local Wakefield schools

  • Free access to our online CPD Academy

  • Friendly, honest support from a dedicated local consultant

  • Opportunities across mainstream, SEND, and alternative settings

If you’re looking for a Teaching Assistant role where your contribution is noticed and your support really matters, we’d love to hear from you.
