Primary Teaching Assistants – Wakefield

Location: Wakefield, West Yorkshire
Salary: £88–£105 per day (paid weekly via PAYE)
Contract: Full-time and part-time options available
Start Date: Immediate and ongoing

We’re looking for enthusiastic Teaching Assistants to support pupils across all year groups in Wakefield’s primary schools. Roles include both general classroom support and 1:1 SEN positions, working closely with children who need extra guidance to thrive.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Supporting class teachers with learning activities and small group work

  • Providing 1:1 support for pupils with additional needs, including SEND

  • Helping children develop confidence, independence, and a love of learning

  • Creating a positive and inclusive classroom environment

  • Working as part of a team to give every child the best possible school experience

What we’re looking for:

  • Experience working with children in schools, childcare, or similar settings

  • A patient, caring approach with strong communication skills

  • Flexibility and adaptability across different year groups and needs

  • An interest in supporting children with SEN (training provided if needed)

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
