Position: General Teaching Assistant

Key Responsibilities:

  • Classroom Support: Provide invaluable assistance to teachers in the classroom by helping to set up activities, organizing resources, and supporting students during lessons.

  • Student Assistance: Work closely with students on a one-to-one basis or in small groups to reinforce learning, provide extra support, and encourage their academic progress.

  • Behavior and Well-being: Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment by promoting good behavior and social skills. Support students in their emotional development and well-being.

  • Special Educational Needs (SEN) Support:  Assist SEN students with additional learning needs to implement tailored strategies to ensure their success.

  • Administrative Duties: Assist in record-keeping, preparing teaching materials, and maintaining an organized and tidy classroom environment.


  • Empathy and Dedication: Demonstrate a caring and patient approach, ensuring every student feels valued and supported in their learning journey.

  • Adaptability: Be flexible and adaptable to work with various age groups and subject areas as required.

  • Strong Communication Skills: Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills to interact effectively with students, teachers, and parents.

  • Initiative and Teamwork: Proactively engage in the school community, collaborating with colleagues to achieve shared goals.

  • Experience: Previous experience working with children or in an educational setting is advantageous but not essential.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
