Teaching Assistant – Long-Term Supply (Secondary)

A well-established secondary school in Haringey is seeking a committed and adaptable Teaching Assistant to provide classroom support across KS3 and KS4. This is a long-term supply role, ideal for someone who enjoys helping students achieve their full potential and thrives in a team-focused school environment.

The Role:

  • Support students during lessons under the direction of the class teacher and SENCO

  • Provide tailored 1:1 and small-group support to promote learning and engagement

  • Help prepare and organise lesson materials and classroom resources

  • Encourage students to develop confidence, independence, and positive learning habits

  • Assist in managing behaviour and maintaining a purposeful classroom atmosphere

Requirements:

  • Previous experience supporting young people in education or youth settings

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills

  • A calm, patient approach and the ability to adapt to different subjects and age groups

  • Thrive-trained or willingness to complete free Thrive training via Protocol Education
