Teaching Assistant (SEND School)

Do you have experience supporting children or young people with additional needs — and the confidence to provide personal care with kindness and respect?
We’re looking for a caring and reliable Teaching Assistant to join a specialist SEND school, supporting pupils with a range of physical and learning needs. The right person will be patient, hands-on, and genuinely committed to helping students thrive both in and out of the classroom.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Providing 1:1 and small-group support for pupils with physical and complex needs
- Assisting with personal care, feeding, and mobility (full guidance and PPE provided)
- Helping to create a safe, calm, and positive learning environment
- Working closely with teachers, therapists, and other support staff
- Encouraging communication, independence, and self-confidence
What We’re Looking For
- Experience in SEND support, Health & Social Care, or childcare settings
- Confidence providing personal care (toileting, changing, or feeding)
- Empathy, patience, and a positive attitude
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a caring team
- A genuine desire to make school a happy and inclusive place for every child
If you’ve supported individuals with physical or complex needs — in education, residential, or care settings — your experience will be highly valued in this role.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
