We’re looking for confident and compassionate Teaching Assistants to support a brilliant SEMH secondary school in Hackney on a short-term, day-to-day basis.
The school supports pupils aged 11 to 16 with social, emotional, and mental health needs. Some days are full of small wins, others ask for patience and resilience, but every day you’ll be helping young people feel seen, safe, and understood.
What you’ll be doing:

Supporting pupils with SEMH needs, helping them regulate emotions and stay engaged in lessons

Building trust and positive relationships, even on the trickier days

Working closely with teachers to create calm, structured routines
-
Providing one-to-one and small-group support in and out of the classroom

Encouraging confidence, independence, and positive behaviour
What you’ll need:

Experience working with pupils with SEMH, challenging behaviour, or additional needs

A steady, nurturing approach and the ability to stay calm under pressure

Excellent communication and teamwork skills

A DBS on the update service, or willingness to apply
