About the role
Protocol Education are seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEND Teaching Assistant to join one of our inclusive partner schools in Newham on a full-time basis.

This role is perfect for someone who’s passionate about supporting children with special educational needs and helping them thrive both academically and emotionally. You’ll be joining a supportive school community where every staff member plays a key role in creating a positive and nurturing environment for pupils to succeed.

Key responsibilities

  • Provide 1:1 and small-group support to pupils with SEND, including Autism (ASC), ADHD, and Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs

  • Assist teachers in delivering personalised learning activities and interventions

  • Support pupils with communication, sensory, and behavioural needs

  • Help to create a calm, engaging, and inclusive classroom environment

  • Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs, and external specialists to meet individual needs

About you

  • Experience working with children or young people with SEND in a school or care setting

  • A patient, positive, and empathetic approach

  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills

  • A genuine passion for inclusive education and supporting pupil development

  • A valid DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply for one)
