Job Title: SEND Teaching Assistant – Full Time

About the role
Protocol Education are looking for a patient, caring, and dedicated SEND Teaching Assistant to join one of our fantastic partner schools in Redbridge on a full-time basis.
This is a brilliant opportunity for someone who is passionate about supporting children with special educational needs and helping them build the skills and confidence they need to succeed. You’ll work closely with teachers, SENCOs, and therapists to provide tailored support that makes a lasting difference.
Key responsibilities

Provide 1:1 and small-group support to pupils with a range of SEND, including Autism (ASC), ADHD, and Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs

Assist in delivering structured learning activities and interventions designed around pupil needs

Encourage independence, self-esteem, and emotional wellbeing

Support positive behaviour and communication in the classroom

Collaborate with teachers and support staff to create an inclusive and engaging learning environment
About you

Experience supporting children or young people with SEND (in schools, care, or community settings)

A calm, patient, and empathetic approach

Strong communication and teamwork skills

Commitment to inclusive education and pupil development

A valid DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply for one)
