Job Title: SEND Teaching Assistant – Full Time

Salary: £90-95 per day (PAYE – no umbrella companies)

About the role
Protocol Education are looking for a dedicated and compassionate SEND Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming and inclusive school in Hackney on a full-time basis.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is passionate about supporting children with additional needs and helping them achieve their personal and academic goals. You’ll work closely with the SENCO, teachers, and wider school team to ensure that every pupil receives the support and encouragement they need to thrive.
Key responsibilities

Provide 1:1 and small-group support for pupils with a range of special educational needs, including Autism (ASC), ADHD, and Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs

Assist in delivering tailored learning activities and interventions under the guidance of the class teacher

Promote positive behaviour and emotional wellbeing in the classroom

Help create a safe, nurturing, and engaging learning environment

Build strong, trusting relationships with pupils, staff, and parents
About you

Experience supporting children or young people with SEND in a school or care setting

A calm, patient, and empathetic approach to working with children

Excellent communication and teamwork skills

A genuine interest in inclusive education and child development

A valid DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply for one)
