Are you passionate about supporting students with diverse learning needs? Join our team at a leading mainstream secondary school located in Hounslow, Greater London . We are currently seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant for a long-term, full-time position.

As a Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing support to both Special Educational Needs (SEN) and English as an Additional Language (EAL) students aged 11-16 years. The successful candidate will demonstrate strong English language proficiency, a thorough understanding of student needs, and relevant experience in supporting them.

Key Responsibilities:

Assist teachers in delivering lessons and provide additional support to students who may require assistance.

Adapt instructional materials to meet the diverse needs and abilities of students, particularly focusing on enhancing understanding for EAL students.

Provide one-on-one support tailored to individual learning styles and specific needs, especially for students with SEN.

Implement strategies to enhance language development for EAL students across reading, writing, speaking, and comprehension.

Engage EAL students in language-rich activities to foster confidence and integration into mainstream classes.

Utilize behavior management techniques to support students with behavioral or emotional challenges, ensuring a conducive classroom environment.

Offer emotional support and create a safe space for students to express themselves.

Assist in conducting assessments to measure student progress and provide valuable input for educational planning.

Maintain open communication with teachers, parents, and support staff to share updates on student progress.

Collaborate with colleagues to develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for SEN students.

Prepare teaching materials and ensure they are accessible and suitable for diverse student needs.

Advocate for inclusive teaching practices and contribute to creating an inclusive classroom environment.

Engage in ongoing professional development to enhance skills in supporting EAL and SEN students.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
