Teaching Assistant – Sensory Regulation & Personal Support

Location: Peterlee, County Durham
Contract: Full-Time, Long-Term
Start: ASAP

This position is ideal for someone who enjoys working closely with learners to support sensory needs, emotional regulation, and personalised care. You’ll be part of a nurturing team where consistency and respect are central to every interaction.

What you’ll be doing

  • Supporting pupils with sensory regulation strategies

  • Helping learners access the curriculum through adapted approaches

  • Assisting with personal care with dignity and respect

  • Recording observations to support planning

  • Working with the wider team to refine individual support plans

Essential qualities

  • Experience supporting sensory or complex needs

  • Calm, observant and respectful manner

  • Strong teamwork and communication skills

  • TA qualification desirable
