About the Role

We are looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join our friendly and high-achieving secondary school in Newham. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone passionate about education and keen to support young people in reaching their full potential.

Working closely with teachers and support staff, you will help deliver engaging lessons, provide targeted interventions, and foster a positive learning environment where every student can succeed.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support classroom teachers in delivering high-quality lessons across a range of subjects.

  • Provide one-to-one and small group support to students, including those with additional learning needs.

  • Assist in preparing teaching materials and classroom resources.

  • Help maintain a positive, safe, and inclusive learning environment.

  • Support students’ emotional, social, and academic progress.

  • Contribute to extracurricular and enrichment activities where appropriate.

About You

  • A genuine interest in working with young people and helping them achieve their goals.

  • Previous experience in a school or youth setting (paid or voluntary) is desirable.

  • Strong communication and organisational skills.

  • A proactive, patient, and positive approach to supporting learning.

  • Minimum of GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths; additional qualifications (e.g. NVQ Level 2/3 in Supporting Teaching and Learning) are beneficial.
