Teaching Assistant for Key Stage 2 ASC Class.

Join a dedicated SEND school situated in Burgess Hill. The school are committed to providing support to children with varying needs, including challenging behaviour and ASC (Autism Spectrum Condition).

Position Overview:

Dynamic and enthusiastic Teaching Assistants to join a Key Stage 2 ASC Class. The role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals who have recently graduated from university or hold a degree, this is not a requirement though. The successful candidate will work from 8.45-4pm with training sessions help on a Tuesday from 4-5pm  and Fridays 2-5pm.

Responsibilities:

-          Provide support to students with Autism in Key Stage 2, both individually and in group settings.

-          Assist in the implementation of individual education plans (IEPs) and behaviour management strategies.

-          Collaborate with the class teacher and other staff members to deliver engaging and differentiated lessons.

-          Attend training sessions, including online training, to enhance skills and knowledge in supporting students with special educational needs.

-          Participate in an eight-week induction program and regular review meetings to ensure job satisfaction and on-going support.

-          Ensure the safety and well-being of students at all times, promoting a positive learning environment.

Requirements:

-          A degree or recent graduate status is preferred but not required.

-          Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, colleagues and parents.

-          Flexibility and adaptability to meet the changing needs of the students and the school environment.

-          Commitment to professional development and willingness to engage in ongoing training and support.

-          Ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently when required.

-          Experience working with children with ASC or other special educational needs is desirable but not essential.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
