Love working with children aged 7–11? Fancy making a real difference during those all-important Key Stage 2 years?
You might just be the person we’re looking for.
We’re on the lookout for Teaching Assistants to support pupils across KS2 classes in primary schools throughout Bristol. This is a hands-on role where you’ll help children build confidence, master core skills and feel proud of their progress, whether that’s one-to-one, in small groups, or as part of the wider classroom.
You’ll be working in mainstream KS2 settings, supporting class teachers with lessons in literacy, numeracy and the wider curriculum, and helping pupils stay focused, motivated and ready to learn.
Experience supporting children with SEN is a bonus, but not a dealbreaker. What really matters is your energy, empathy and enthusiasm. If you’ve worked in youth work, sports coaching, tutoring or you’re studying psychology or education, your skills will transfer brilliantly into this role.
What you’ll be doing:
-
Supporting KS2 pupils with additional needs so they can access learning and make progress
-
Working closely with teachers to deliver targeted support, especially around reading, writing and maths
-
Helping pupils develop independence, resilience and positive learning habits
-
Creating a calm, inclusive classroom environment where children feel safe and supported
-
Bringing patience, positivity and a sense of humour to every school day
What we’re looking for:
-
Someone caring, confident and comfortable working with children aged 7–11
-
Experience with SEN or a genuine willingness to learn and get stuck in
-
People from sports, coaching, youth work or psychology backgrounds are especially welcome
-
A DBS on the update service, or willingness to apply for one
