What the role involves as a Graduate Teaching Assistant

You’ll support pupils in lessons, help teachers with classroom tasks and assist learners who need additional guidance. This role gives you valuable experience if you’re considering a future in teaching or a pupil-focused profession.

Daily responsibilities as a Graduate Teaching Assistant

  • Working with pupils 1:1 and in small groups
  • Supporting teachers with resources, planning and behaviour routines
  • Helping pupils stay engaged and motivated
  • Encouraging positive behaviour and clear expectations
  • Building your confidence and skills through hands-on experience

You’ll be a great fit as a Graduate Teaching Assistant if you have

  • A degree in any subject
  • An interest in education, psychology or youth support
  • Good communication and a patient approach
  • The ability to work as part of a team
  • An enhanced DBS or willingness to apply
