We are seeking a Level 2 Teaching Assistant to provide specialised support for pupils with SEN (Special Educational Needs). This rewarding role will involve working closely with students, staff, and the school SENCo to ensure that every child reaches their full potential.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop a thorough understanding of a range of learning support needs, as well as the specific needs of the pupil(s) assigned.
  • Aid pupils to learn effectively, both in group situations and on an individual basis, within and outside of the classroom setting.
  • Establish a positive and supportive relationship with pupils to promote a sense of belonging and self-esteem.
  • Work closely with the SENCo and class teachers to manage pupils effectively and in line with their Individual Educational Plans (IEPs) or Provision Maps.
  • Plan and implement agreed teaching and learning activities tailored to the pupils’ specific needs.
  • Ensure the safety and wellbeing of pupils under your care at all times.
  • Monitor and evaluate pupils’ progress, maintaining accurate records and providing feedback on their achievements and challenges.

  • A compassionate and patient individual with a Level 2 Teaching Assistant qualification.
  • Someone who understands how to build relationships with students while promoting confidence and independence.
  • Experience working with children with SEN or a strong willingness to develop expertise in this area.
