About the Role:

An Ofsted-rated 'Good' school in Wolverhampton is seeking to appoint a dedicated and enthusiastic SEND Teaching Assistant. This role involves supporting children with special educational needs, requiring qualities such as being encouraging, patient, non-judgmental, approachable, positive, and adaptable.

Job Duties:

  • Work with students with special educational needs, following EHCPs and tailored educational plans.
  • Create a nurturing and inclusive learning environment to support the growth and development of every child.
  • Communicate with students in a motivating and supportive manner, building trusting relationships.
  • Demonstrate patience, empathy, and understanding to meet diverse learning requirements.
  • Adapt to different situations and challenges that may arise in a proactive and flexible manner.

Required Qualifications:

  • Teaching Assistant Qualification
  • Safeguarding training

Education:

Previous experience working with children with additional needs or a strong desire to do so.

Experience:

Experience working with children with special educational needs is desirable.

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Passionate about making a positive impact on students with special educational needs.
  • Ability to follow EHCPs and tailored educational plans.
  • Strong communication skills to build trusting relationships with students.
  • Patience, empathy, and understanding to support diverse learning requirements.
  • Proactive and flexible approach to adapt to different situations and challenges.

Preferred Qualifications:

Graduates or aspiring teachers looking to gain experience before applying for teacher training.
