Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) Teaching Assistant

Are you a nurturing and enthusiastic individual with a passion for early childhood education? We are seeking dedicated EYFS Teaching Assistants to join our supply team, providing valuable support to nurseries and primary schools across Leeds. This is an exciting opportunity to work flexibly, gain diverse experiences, and make a positive impact on the youngest learners.

Position: EYFS Teaching Assistant (Supply)
Location: Leeds and surrounding areas
Contract: Supply/Temporary
Salary: Competitive daily rates, dependent on experience and qualifications

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the class teacher in delivering engaging and age-appropriate activities in line with the EYFS curriculum.
  • Assist in creating a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment for children aged 0-5.
  • Encourage children’s development through play, exploration, and structured learning.
  • Help children with personal care tasks, including feeding, dressing, and toileting as needed.
  • Observe and document children’s progress, assisting in the preparation of learning journals and assessments.
  • Work with individual children and small groups, providing targeted support to meet their developmental needs.
  • Foster positive relationships with children, parents, and staff, contributing to a welcoming and inclusive school community.
  • Ensure a high standard of safeguarding and health and safety practices at all times.

Requirements:

  • Relevant qualifications in Early Years Education, Childcare, or a related field (e.g., CACHE Level 2/3, NVQ, or equivalent).
  • Previous experience working in an EYFS setting, either as a Teaching Assistant or in a similar role.
  • Strong understanding of the EYFS framework and the ability to support children’s learning and development effectively.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a warm and caring approach.
  • Adaptability and flexibility to work in various schools and nurseries with different settings and approaches.
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
