Looking for something steady, supportive, and genuinely rewarding?

If you’re a Teaching Assistant who loves being part of the classroom buzz but wants the consistency of five days a week, this one’s for you.

We’re working with welcoming primary schools across Lewisham who are looking for brilliant, committed TAs to join them on a long-term basis. Not ad hoc. Not “we’ll text you at 7am”. Proper, settled roles where you can build relationships and really make an impact.

Because let’s be honest, that’s when the magic happens.

What your days could look like:

  • Supporting pupils 1:1 or in small groups

  • Helping teachers keep learning flowing smoothly

  • Providing SEND support where needed

  • Being that calm, steady presence in the room

  • Celebrating the small wins, and there are lots of them

You won’t just be an extra pair of hands. You’ll be the glue that holds it all together.

We’re looking for someone who:

  • Has experience working with children in a school or similar setting

  • Brings patience, warmth, and a good sense of humour

  • Feels confident supporting phonics, reading, and early maths

  • Can commit to five days a week, long-term

  • Wants to feel valued, not overlooked

SEND experience is a bonus, especially if you’ve supported pupils with autism, ADHD, or speech and language needs.

What the schools offer:

  • Supportive SLT who actually say thank you

  • Friendly staffrooms, kettle always on

  • Clear routines and structured days

  • Opportunities to grow your skills

And from us at Protocol Education:

  • Weekly pay through PAYE, no umbrella companies

  • FREE access to our online CPD Academy

  • Personalised support from a dedicated consultant who listens

  • Opportunities in mainstream, SEND, and alternative settings

  • Streamlined registration and local bookings

  • Referral scheme, earn rewards for referring friends

Education changes lives. And support staff are right at the heart of that. Every child who feels safe, understood, and encouraged because you showed up? That matters.

If you’re ready for a role where you can settle in, be part of the team, and make Mondays feel purposeful again, let’s chat.

All applicants will require the appropriate qualifications and training for this role. Please see the FAQs on the Protocol Education website for further details.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
