We’re working with a friendly SEND primary school in Islington that’s looking for a caring, patient Teaching Assistant to support pupils with additional needs. It’s a school that values teamwork, understands the realities of SEND, and makes sure staff feel supported, not stretched thin.
You’ll be supporting children across the primary age range, helping them feel safe, settled, and ready to engage with learning. Some days will be challenging, others will be full of those moments that remind you why you do this job, but every day you’ll know your support makes a genuine difference.
What you’ll be doing:

Supporting pupils with SEND, including autism and additional learning needs

Working closely with class teachers and the wider SEND team

Helping children access learning, routines, and social development

Being a calm, consistent presence in the classroom
This role could be a great fit if you:

Have experience working with children, ideally in a SEND or primary setting

Are patient, kind, and confident when things don’t go to plan

Put relationships first and understand that progress looks different for every child

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
