About the Role
We are recruiting a Teaching Assistant to support pupils within specialist education settings across Sunderland. These settings support children and young people who require a personalised and nurturing approach to learning due to social, emotional and behavioural needs.
This role is ideal for candidates who are happy to travel to different settings and value flexibility while making a meaningful difference to pupils’ lives.
Key Responsibilities

Provide 1:1 and small group support to pupils with SEMH needs.

Support learning activities and personalised programmes.

Assist with behaviour management and emotional regulation strategies.

Build positive, trusting relationships with pupils.

Work closely with teachers and support staff to maintain a calm environment.
Skills & Experience

Experience supporting children or young people with additional needs.

Calm, patient and resilient approach.

Flexibility and willingness to travel.

Teaching Assistant qualification is desirable but not essential.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
