Rate: £90–£110 per day

About the Role
We are seeking a Teaching Assistant to support pupils within a specialist alternative education setting in Peterlee. The provision supports pupils who require a personalised approach to learning due to social, emotional or behavioural needs.
You will play a key role in supporting learning, behaviour and emotional regulation in a calm, structured environment.
Key Responsibilities

Provide 1:1 and small group support.

Assist with behaviour management strategies.

Support pupils’ emotional wellbeing and engagement.

Work closely with teachers and support staff.

Promote positive routines and learning behaviours.
Skills & Experience
-
Experience supporting children or young people with SEMH needs.

Confident, calm and consistent approach.

Strong communication and relationship-building skills.

Teaching Assistant qualification is desirable but not essential.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
