Teaching Assistant
Location: Newcastle upon Tyne
Daily Rate: £90–£110
Protocol Education is proud to be working in partnership with a progressive and inclusive secondary school in Newcastle to recruit Teaching Assistants to support students across Key Stages 3 and 4.

About the role:
As a Teaching Assistant, you will play a key role in supporting students’ academic progress, emotional wellbeing and engagement with learning. You will work closely with teaching staff, SEN teams and pastoral leads to ensure pupils receive the right level of support both in and out of the classroom.
Your responsibilities may include:

Providing in-class support to students across a range of subjects

Delivering targeted interventions for individuals or small groups

Supporting pupils with SEN, SEMH and additional learning needs

Helping to manage behaviour positively and consistently

Encouraging engagement, confidence and independence in learning

Supporting with transitions, routines and pastoral care where required
We are looking for candidates who:

Have experience working with secondary-aged students in education, youth work or care settings

Are patient, resilient and confident in managing a range of behaviours

Have strong communication and interpersonal skills

Are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children

Are seeking a rewarding role supporting young people in a school environment
This role would suit experienced Teaching Assistants, graduates considering teacher training, or individuals with relevant child-facing experience looking to build a long-term career in education.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
