Protocol Education are currently working with a school based in Islington who are looking to appoint a full-time Teaching Assistant working to support and care for Autsim Spectrum Disorder students.

Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) schools follow a highly structured and intensive curriculum to support children with problems in social communication and interaction, and restricted or repetitive behaviors or interests. These schools and departments use various behavioural and educational interventions to support students with range of symptoms, skills, and levels of disability in functioning and aim to help them overcome social, behavioural, language and academic challenges.

This is a great opportunity to work closely with primary or secondary school students where you will recieve training and be responsible for the maintence of the academic and social development of a mixed group of children. You will be working closely with classroom teachers, parents, carers and professionals to create safe and nurturing school environment for students and impacting positive change in their daily lives.

This is a very rewarding role where we are looking for a candidate who is dedicated, enthustiastic and creative as this role will involve creative working and activities e.g., Painting, drawing, singing etc.

 

The ideal candidate should:

- Have a dedicated and resilient attitude and mindset

- Be open to providing personal care

- Be willing to commit to creating a positive learning environment for all students to help them flourish academically and socially

- Have prior knowledge and understanding of SEND professionally or personally and have the willingness to learn about what their students need

- Work closely alongside classroom teachers, parents, carers and professionals in delivering lessons, activites and creating an education plan for students

 

What you need to apply:

- An enhanced DSB check on the update service, if not then willing to get one done

- Proof of the Rights to Work within the UK

- Update CV covering the last 10 years including voluntary or employed work, education and unemployment
