Due to our increasing roll and the increased popularity of Geography at key stages 4 and 5, we require a well-qualified and enthusiastic full-time teacher of Geography in this lively, high achieving multi-cultural school located in East Ham, London.

Student achievement in Geography is strong at both GCSE and A-Level. The Geography department is well-established and very well resourced. Our teachers are committed to involving students of all ages in practical fieldwork. Visits and enrichment activities complement classroom learning.

The school, described by OFSTED as ‘outstanding in all categories’ in 2012 and 2018, is massively oversubscribed and consistently achieves outstanding outcomes at GCSE and A level. We provide a friendly working environment underpinned by a robust programme of continuing professional development (CPD) for our staff. In addition, we offer a wide range of activities and incentives to promote a healthy work-life balance for our staff.

We wish to employ a Teacher who has a good subject knowledge and is passionate about sharing their knowledge with young people. You must be a reflective practitioner and be committed to strong personal growth and continuing professional development. This position would suit a newly a qualified teacher or a more experienced teacher looking to broaden their experience at an outstanding inner-city school. A TLR allowance will be available to a suitably experienced applicant.

 

About You

• Experienced or newly qualified teacher

• Experience of teaching (or in the case of ECTs of Teaching Practice) up to GCSE. A level teaching experience is desirable but not essential

• Proven track record of public examination success (for more experienced applicants)

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
